Guest Post: Tanya Payzant - FREE Valentine Printables

February is going to be such a fun month. The children in our school district have two weeks off of school due to the fact that our city is hosting “The Canada Winter Games”.

The other highlight of this month is, of course, Valentine’s Day! Valentines Day is a day we can celebrate the love we have for our family and friends. Feeling that you are loved is a very important part of a healthy life.

Due to the fact that I’ve had LOTS of free time on my hands lately (that’s a story for another day), I’ve been checking out some sweet, free, printable ideas online. There are so many great ideas online: Valentine's cards, labels, note paper, cupcake picks, bar wrappers, computer desktop wallpaper, and much more!

"Paper Glitter" is offering these Valentine labels as well as the Cupcake Picks below.

Find these Valentine Cupcake Picks here.

Find this sweet Cherry Valentine Set here.

There are lots of free printable Valentine cards online as well. Look at these cute ones for children or adults. You will also want to go on the Living Locurto website. They have some awesome freebies as well as free downloads when you "like" them on Facebook.

I believe that sometimes we feel Valentine's are just for that one special person in our life. . . or that they are something children pass out to their classmates in elementary school. Lets show our family, friends, co-workers, that we love and care for them. That might mean a card in the mail, emailed or hand delivered . It might mean some cupcakes or muffins taken into work, or a phone call to a friend you haven't seen in ages. It might mean a random act of kindness to a complete stranger. This Valentine's day lets "spread the love around"!

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another" John 13:14 NIV

"Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20

Psalm 23 with a twist...

A group of ladies have been studying the book of Psalms. And, today, time was spent considering Psalm 23 - the most well known, of all the Psalms.

I thought this might be enjoyed by all...
It is not original to me.

The Lord is my Shepherd... (that's Relationship)
I shall not want... (that's Supply)
He maketh me lie down in green pastures... (that's Rest)
He leadeth me beside the still waters... (that's Refreshment)
He restoreth my soul... (that's Healing)
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness... (that's Guidance)
For His name's sake... (that's Purpose)
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death... (that's Testing)
I will fear no evil... (that's Protection)
For Thou art with me... (that's Faithfulness)
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me... (that's Discipline)
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies... (that's Hope)
Thou annointest my head with oil... (that's Consecration)
My cup runneth over... (that's Abundance)
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life... (that's Blessing)
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord... (that's Security)
Forever... (that's Eternity)

That's... the Gospel!

Waiting, Waiting, Waiting... by Jenn Fortune

"They" say that patience is a virtue. But having patience is hard.

Waiting for the phone to ring, the mail to come, the kettle to boil, all require a little patience.

I'm that person who always burns supper because I want to cook everything on high just to make it happen faster.

God is trying to teach me patience right now, by making me wait, and trust Him that it will all work out. It seems like every time I start to get frustrated with the waiting, God sends me a little reminder that He’s there, trust Him, be PATIENT.

Patience is hard, but knowing that God is looking after things makes it easier!

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass … Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him.” (Psalm 37:4,7)

What are you waiting for?

Choosing to SEE by Mary Beth Chapman

"I could only see a few feet in front of me. If I could see any further than that, the journey ahead would be too scary. But He was showing me all that I needed, just a few steps at a time…giving me little glimmers of grace…if I would choose to SEE them." --Mary Beth Chapman

I've never gotten goose bumps and had the hairs stand up on the back of my neck stand up when reading a Prologue before...Beth Moore did an excellent job ushering readers into Mary Beth Chapman's book Choosing to SEE. As I went from chapter to chapter, I was learning valuable life lessons while connecting with a fellow mother going through the same day to day tasks as we all do. No, I am not married to a popular christian musician but I am a mom who struggles with the every day tasks of raising children and running a home. How many of us moms can also say as she said in chapter 10 that "Sometimes I would just stop, sit, and cry." ? I lifted my eyes after reading this and said "We're all the same!" (Us moms) This book takes readers on a journey through Mary Beth's and her family's life and all the exciting and tragic events they experienced. Thank you for having the courage to write this book Mary Beth. I also enjoyed the song lyrics from many of Steven's songs inserted into different chapters. It brings new meaning to songs I have sung and heard many times. As life happened, he wrote. It is beautiful. Adoption is a major theme throughout this entire book. At first the thought scared Mary Beth and this is what she said in Chapter 12 - Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. "God! I prayed. "I don't know that I've ever been on a journey where I really needed faith before. I could always see the path fine. But with this, I truly don't know where the road will lead. I can only see enough by Your light to take the next little step. And then the next..." The Chapman's have greatly influenced their friends and many others to reach out into the world of adoption. To further the cause, they started an organization called Show Hope and through that organization have connected hundreds of children around the world with families who love them. www.showhope.org
I learned. I laughed. I cried.

Blessings for the New Year

I choose to initiate God’s promises and blessings for my life in the New Year by declaring them as true. The power in a blessing is in speaking it! Because I believe that God has more wonderful things planned for me than I can even imagine (Ephesians 3:20) for the coming year, today I declare that:

I am blessed with God’s divine purpose and perfect plan for my life. I am blessed with gifts, God-given abilities and guidance. I am blessed with strength of character, self-determination and self-control. I am blessed with family and friends, faith and freedom. I am blessed with health, happiness, favor and fulfillment. I am blessed with promotion, protection, prosperity and provision. I am blessed with spirit of obedience, supernatural success and a positive outlook on life. I am blessed with a fresh start and a new outlook on life, beginning today. I am looking forward to the new thing God will do in my life this year. I choose to let go of the past and get excited about my future because I am blessed!

In Jesus’ name, Amen - (Joel Osteen)
